Directions In Design gives back: The Haven of Grace is a refuge for young pregnant homeless women, ages 16 to 24 – a place where they can come, have their baby and turn their lives around. In order to stay, the women must continue their education or acquire their GED and they are encouraged to pursue either college or a vocation. While living at the Haven, they are taught parenting skills, finances such as budgeting and saving, homemaking. Once the young women are back on track, they graduate from the Haven and enter into the aftercare program where they are monitored, with their children, for up to 10 years. However, they cannot leave the residential program until they are employed, have suitable housing, an appropriate financial plan and are prepared to raise their child or children.

That housing can be a stickler. So, the Haven of Grace built 12 apartments, near the residential facility. Teams of designers were enlisted to complete the interiors. Our own Cindy Belmont, Mallory Flinn and Jaime Olivastro worked on the project.
We were truly proud to have been a part of this wonderful project. Thank you to all of the suppliers who were so generous in donating to this worthwhile cause.
