New Wellington Imaging Center Offers More than Imaging Services
Directions in Design offers comfort and luxury to patients with intelligent design

ST. LOUIS, May 2007 – Located by the Florida State Fairgrounds and the Florida Turnpike, Midtown Imaging’s new Wellington center offers more than just a convenient location. St. Louis-based Directions in Design recently completed architectural work and interior planning that give the medical facility the feeling of a spa.

Designers infused the 8,000 square foot facility with warm woods and a soft, warm color palette, creating a residential atmosphere. Antique bronze hardware accents the entire facility, from the elegant reception area to the spacious and comfortable patient waiting/dressing areas. Directions in Design employed extensive moldings throughout the center, as well.

“We created this patient-friendly look especially for Midtown Imaging by integrating our design and architectural styles with Midtown Imaging’s mission and vision,” said Jane Ganz, president, Directions in Design. “Patients can take advantage of this high-tech, multi-modality facility without encountering the clinical feel that comes with so many centers.”

Directions in Design’s work in the Wellington facility also includes a spacious waiting area and large, well-appointed restrooms. The center offers patients a full range of oncological, muscular skeletal and neurological imaging services, including two MRI’s, x-ray, mammography, bone density scans and ultrasound.

"Seeing how much effort we have invested into our environment certainly makes a difference to our referring physicians and patients,” said Kevin Johnson, chief executive officer of Midtown Imaging. “We consider the design of the environment a part of our advanced, state-of-the-art approach to imaging.”
