Florida Imaging Center Awards New Project to Directions in Design
ST. LOUIS, May 2007 – St. Louis based-Directions in Design (DID) has signed on to bring patient comfort to the forefront of Midtown Imaging’s new facility. DID will take on interior design and facilities management during the construction of the new Abacoa location.
Designers will employ warm woods, pleasant patterns, textures, lighting and antique bronze hardware to create a residential atmosphere throughout the entire center, from the reception area to the large, well appointed restrooms. A color palette of soft warm tones and the use of extensive moldings will add to the non-clinical feeling that puts patients at ease.
“We are incorporating a patient-friendly approach to design into every aspect of this facility” said. Jane Ganz, president, Directions in Design. “The non-clinical, residential theme is even carried into the staff lounge and the restrooms. Our staff is completely devoted to creating facilities in which patients can be in the midst of a healthcare environment, but still feel at home. Our clients have also noted that well-planned, less stressful surroundings encourage staff to focus on the delivery of caring, patient-friendly service.”
The 6,000 sq. ft. facility will offer a range of modalities to patients including fluoroscopy, x-ray, and two MRI’s. The center is set to open in early July.
“When it comes to providing superb diagnostic services, patient mindset and comfort level is all-important,” said Kevin Johnson, CEO, Midtown Imaging. “The intelligent design Directions in Design applies to our facilities provides an ambiance that allows our patients to feel more relaxed about the medical services we are providing them.”
