Since 1975, Directions In Design has completed the design of 200 plus marine projects of all types, encompassing cruise ships, dinner cruise, charter yachts, casino vessels, ferries, fast ferries, tug boats and terminal facilities. Our staff is capable of handling small- or large-scale renovation and new construction projects. The result of thirty-two years of national and international experience is unparalleled knowledge and technical expertise in specifying materials for passenger vessels and workboats. Planning recommendations and specifications meet the appropriate regulations (US Coast Guard, IMO/SOLAS, High Speed Craft Code, and Crew Endurance). Among our in-house resources are a large library and programs (Auto CAD 2008 and Revit) to interact electronically with owners and other professionals. Our workboat and terminal planners fully realize the direct correlation between an interior environment and productivity, safety and crew endurance. There are many components and aspects which must be integrated in the design process such as visual appeal, indestructible materials, lighting control, acoustical levels, adequate storage, privacy and maintenance issues. DID has the ability to coordinate every aspect essential to a marine environment and design experience of passenger salons, lounges, dining/food service areas, gift shops, galleys, crew quarters, and crew dining/lounge areas.
